Fit for Fall has begun...and our very own instructor team has joined the challenge! They each share their insight on why they've decided to participate, the hardest thing they'll need to overcome, and what will keep them motivated for the next 6 weeks:

Steph:
- I'm joining the challenge because I plan to win(DUH)! But seriously, my goal is to develop a better routine that works for someone who is always on the go. Between teaching at Redbike, and training Pilates clients, it's important that I find a balance of fitness and nutrition that will give me the energy I need throughout the day.
- The hardest thing I'll be doing is cutting out sweets. I love dessert! But thank goodness for dark chocolate.
- I believe that every day is a new opportunity to be better. I set small goals for myself every day, and if there is a setback then there is always tomorrow. Being hard on yourself is a waste of mental energy--stay positive!
Gabi:
- My goal is to cut down on eating out. Restaurant selections aren't the most nutritious. I'll be making more of an effort to cook healthier meals at home instead!
- The saddest thing to say bye to will be Pizza. I mean, who doesn't love Pizza?
- Even though it's a challenge, my focus is on my own progress. It's important to avoid comparing your progress with others.
Adam:
- I never really think about what I eat. I always try to make better choices, like brown rice or whole wheat pasta. With Fit for Fall, I'm choosing to be more aware of the choices I make. Our in house dietician suggested I add more veggies to my diet, so that's where I'll start.
- The hardest thing I'll be giving up are my long afternoon naps. But I heard napping for 15-20 minutes is actually good, so once I get that in I'll spend the other portion of my afternoon at the gym. Weight training and Redbike classes will do my bod good.
- I stay motivated by remembering to live in the now and make the most of every moment. Being present and mindful of what you feel and what your body needs is the most important thing.
America:
- Fall means a new, shorter day schedule. Therefore, I'm taking full advantage of Fit for Fall to maintain my pre-wedding "summer bod". Incorporating a 4x per week fitness routine (on top of the Redbike classes I teach) and adding fresh seasonal produce into my diet will keep me in the game!
- I'm always sad to see summer produce go (aka Watermelon). It's my favorite, so saying goodbye to that will be hard.
- All you need for motivation is yourself. It's important to remember that nothing can motivate you more than the internal desire to do better. Once you're convicted, nothing can stop you!
Mari:
- I'm a mother of four and keeping a balance of fitness, nutrition, and sleep can be hectic. My goal for Fit for Fall is to get more sleep and more "me" time to maintain a healthier lifestyle!
- I love Haagen Daaz ice cream bars. Giving that up will be hard. But I'll substitute that for a cup of fresh berries, some almonds, and a cup of almond milk.
- I truly think that if something doesn't challenge you, it won't change you. Stay focused and the results will be worth it.
