Back to School, Back to You
Say it ain’t so, summer is coming to an end and it’s time for back to school. We caught up with RedBike rockstar instructors and parents, Willy, Mari, and Kelly to find out what back to school means for them.
1. What are you most excited about now that the school year is back in session?
Willy
- I’m most excited that we can get back to our structure and things will flow a bit easier.
Mari
- Life returns to normal, both me and the kids get back to the routine, and more “me” time!
Kelly
- My kids love to learn and are great students. They love to learn and be productive in their day, so I’m excited for them to be back in school!
2. How does this affect your fitness routine?
Willy
- Since she’s back in school I’ll have more time to focus on searching for music to ride to!
Mari
- This will not really affect my fitness routine…a little easy for me to say being that i am a fitness instructor for a living 😉
Kelly
- Quite honestly, my kids know that my fitness routine and classes are a priority and that mommy gets very grouchy if she doesn’t work out. The funny thing is now they want to work out with me and I just got my son a gym membership. I believe in setting a good example for a healthy lifestyle and not letting my kids be an excuse not to work out.
3. Who is more excited? You or the kids?
Willy
- Definitely I am!
Mari
- I think we are equally excited actually. As I stated before, they love to learn and I love knowing that they’ll be back in a good learning environment.
Kelly
- Duh! Kids keep asking me not to use the S word
4. What’s the most challenging part of the back to school year as a parent?
Willy
- Maybe a little school shopping and all this crazy supplies they give u a HUGE list for.
Mari
- The most challenging thing is finding balance in my schedule and eating healthy. With the craziness and constant on the go feeling, it can be challenging to set time aside to prepare healthy food.
Kelly
- Getting kids of their phones and back into some sort of a routine!
